Lincolnshire Day
The day and its story
Lincolnshire Day is 1 October, recalling the Lincolnshire Rising of 1536 and resistance to Henry VIII’s religious changes.
Modern celebrations have a much wider scope than the historical dispute. British County Flags documents civic flag-raising and joint celebrations involving separate council areas, alongside promotion of local food, businesses and attractions. The county day offers a shared focus across geographic Lincolnshire.
Make it your celebration
Fly or display the county flag, explore a local collection, share a family story, or bring people together around the county’s food, language, music and history. Check individual organisers for event dates and access arrangements.
