Shropshire Day
The day and its story
Shropshire Day is observed on 23 February, the feast of St Milburga, the abbess associated with Wenlock’s religious history.
The observance connects the county’s celebration with an older religious commemoration. Accounts of Milburga’s miracles belong to the traditions surrounding the saint; they should be read as such, rather than as independently established events.
Make it your celebration
Fly or display the county flag, explore a local collection, share a family story, or bring people together around the county’s food, language, music and history. Check individual organisers for event dates and access arrangements.
