Design and symbolism

Three black pears occupy a white shield over green and blue waves. The pears are the flag’s central county emblem.

History and use

The waves represent the county’s hills and rivers. Elaine Truby designed the winning entry in a BBC Hereford & Worcester competition, registered in April 2013. Its combination of a familiar emblem with a modern landscape background distinguishes it from older civic arms.
