Design and symbolism

A red rose is centred on a yellow field. Red and yellow are the county’s livery colours, and the rose is its best-known traditional emblem.

History and use

The registered design provides a public flag for geographic Lancashire. Friends of Real Lancashire secured its registration. The yellow background distinguishes it from other rose flags while giving the county’s familiar badge a strong setting.
