Design and symbolism

A golden hunting horn with decorative ribbons is centred on green. Its clear silhouette gives the flag a particularly simple visual identity.

History and use

The horn comes from the crest of the former county council’s 1937 arms and has older local heraldic associations. The Huntingdonshire Society promoted the design and sought registration following local consultation. A county society’s work helped secure a public symbol of enduring geographic identity.
