Design and symbolism

A Hereford bull’s white face appears on red above blue and white waves. The red evokes the county’s earth and the colouring of its cattle.

History and use

The waves represent the Wye, while the bull celebrates a breed closely associated with the county. Jason Saber’s design won a public competition organised by the Herefordshire Flag Committee and was unveiled in November 2019.
