Design and symbolism
A white upright cross, edged in black, extends across green. It is known as St Petroc’s Cross.
History and use
Ryan R. Sealey’s design was selected through a BBC Devon poll. Green, black and white were already familiar through local sporting colours. Published sources give differing dates for adoption and registration, so this profile records the confirmed registered status without asserting an unresolved registration date.
The design is listed in the UK Flag Registry. A separate, securely established registration date is not given here; design dates, public unveilings and heraldic grants are different milestones.
