Northamptonshire Day
The day and its story
Northamptonshire Day is 25 October, St Crispin’s Day. The association with the patron saint of shoemakers reflects the county’s celebrated footwear industry.
The date was chosen in a public vote held alongside the county flag competition. The first Northamptonshire Day in 2014 included the raising of the new flag. The industrial connection makes the occasion a natural starting point for exploring craft, working lives and local collections.
Make it your celebration
Fly or display the county flag, explore a local collection, share a family story, or bring people together around the county’s food, language, music and history. Check individual organisers for event dates and access arrangements.
