Kent Day
The day and its story
Kent Day is listed on 26 May, associated with St Augustine, the first Archbishop of Canterbury. The county-day tradition connects the date with his role in Kent’s early Christian history.
Liturgical calendars can use different dates for commemorating saints. Here, 26 May is retained as the date documented by the county-day sources and the Government’s 2019 list; it is not presented as the only date used by every church.
Make it your celebration
Fly or display the county flag, explore a local collection, share a family story, or bring people together around the county’s food, language, music and history. Check individual organisers for event dates and access arrangements.
