County Geography
Wexford meets Wicklow to the north, Carlow to the north-west, Kilkenny to the west, and Waterford across the estuary side to the west and south-west, while the Irish Sea and the Celtic Sea form the county’s eastern and southern edge. The county is shaped by the Slaney valley, Wexford Harbour, the Barrow-side west, and the long outer coast including the Hook peninsula.
Slaney valley, harbour edge, low plain, and long sea coast give Wexford a strong and readable county form.
